MBDA to Build New Base

 4th Dec 2014

Global defence supplier MBDA is to begin constructing a 100,000 square foot facility at Harworth Estates’ Logistics North in Bolton, Lancashire.

Operating in France, the United Kingdom, Italy, Germany, Spain and the United States, MBDA works with 90 armed forces worldwide and is a major supplier to the British armed forces with their ongoing operations in Iraq and Syria.

The expansion of MBDA’s operation highlights not just their own success with an order book standing at €10.8 billion but the robustness of the defence industry as a whole.

MBDA’s decision to take up residence at the 4 million square foot Logistics North site has been widely praised as safe guarding industry in the North and contributing to the Bolton community and economy. MBDA’s workforce currently stands at over 10,000 people worldwide and the facility will see that number grow.

Electus Recruitment is encouraged by the move seeing it as part of a wider plan to revitalise the Greater Manchester area. Although work is yet to begin we’re already hard at work establishing requirements and scales.
