Do you have production or manufacturing engineering experience, or have you provided manufacturing technical support for a diverse range of electromechanical products? Our client is seeking a Production Engineer to develop and maintain special tooling, fixtures, trolleys, plant equipment etc. including training in using them.

You will have the opportunity to work alongside leading thinkers in the industry at a company renowned for cutting edge technologies and innovative solutions.

You will have the following responsibilities:

Provide manufacturing technical support for a diverse range of electromechanical products as directed by the Principal Production Engineer.
Develop and maintain special tooling, fixtures, trolleys, plant equipment etc.
Training staff in the use of tools and equipment.
Hands on approach to all manufacturing requirements.
Technical report writing.
Proficiently develop complex MS Excel spreadsheets, Visio drawings, Word documents, etc. including the use of databases.

You will be given the opportunity to develop your skill in the following functions:

Assist in Change Review process and maintenance of Manufacturing Processes.
Assist in the Design Review and New Product Introduction process to interface Design for Manufacture.
Assist in the Lean continuous improvement programme.
Assist in the creation and maintenance of electronic standard operating procedures to ensure accurate and repeatable manufacture.
Develop strong working relationships with Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality and Vendors.
Any other tasks associated with above.

Qualifications & Experience

Experience or a grounded understanding of electromechanical manufacture.
A diverse range of manufacturing and engineering skills. Competent or has a good understanding of electromechanical manufacture, design for manufacture, tool making, technical writing, root cause analysis, process improvement, hands on engineering or similar.
Training to IPC standards would be an advantage.
The ability to understand technical drawings, documents and product manufacture.
Excellent IT skills; particularly MS Office (Word, Excel, Visio, Power Point etc.) and use of databases.
Knowledgeable in the use of Enterprise Resource Planning software (such as SAP, IFS, etc)
An understanding of Lean Continuous Improvements would be an advantage.
An understanding of Quality Assurance, Configuration and Process Controls would be an advantage.
