A client of Electus for more than a decade, this privately owned independent codification and cataloguing contractor has worked within the defence industry since 1960. They are a leading supplier of technical writing, translation and illustrating, as well as integrated logistic support services to government and industry clients throughout the UK & Europe.
We were instructed to find a Technical Publication Manager with a strong defence background, experience dealing with military equipment, but who also has commercial projects experience. The ideal candidate would have a background with Army Equipment Support Publications and experience of producing publications to JSP (D) 543, AESP 0100 and ASD S1000D standards.
We conducted an in-depth analysis of the market and identified the key individuals that would be right for our client. We then conducted a targeted advertising campaign alongside an active search of our internal talent pool of registered candidates.
We identified thirteen individuals from across the UK that demonstrated the right skills and experience and then put them through our screening process which produced a short list of five.
Of those five the client conducted interviews with three of them which resulted in the client offering one of our candidates the position. The search, selection and offer process was all completed within just four weeks.
The candidate impressed our client so much he was actually offered a higher positon than originally anticipated, and they joined the organisation as Operations Manager, and became responsible for all future hires. This started a great new relationship with the client and has since resulted in two further placements for Technical Authors.
