My client, a world leader in the defence sector, requires an Algorithm Development Lead to build and lead a team of engineers, developing and maintaining algorithms for the next generation of Missile and Weapon Systems, including onboard algorithms for guidance, control and navigation.
Algorithm Development Lead
The Algorithm Development Lead will lead and steer the technical direction of algorithm activities, helping the team to grow to support future activities.
An important aspect of the role will be to act as the GCN point of contact for the algorithm team in managing relationships with partners and customers.
You’ll work on complex and exciting concepts and products as part of a passionate team of specialist engineers, interacting with other subject areas like Simulation and Modelling, Image Processing, Software, Navigation Sensors, Hardware-in-the Loop, Systems Design & Validation, Seekers & Sensors, Datalinks and Technical Quality.
You will be exposed to groundbreaking technological innovations, in an environment where Engineers play a meaningful role through the development of complex weapon systems in all stages of the lifecycle.
To be considered for this role, applicants will need to be qualified to degree level (or equivalent) in a subject with mathematical content (e.g. Aerospace Engineering, Control Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science), with previous experience in Algorithm development and research. Defence domain knowledge such as Guidance, Navigation, Control, Command and Control, Dynamic Systems, Sensors, and Autonomous Systems or similar would be highly beneficial. You will also need previous experience in managing or leading technical teams.
Relevant Post-Doctoral or Industrial experience would also be beneficial.
