ECI Telcom/Ericsson GPON fibre knowledge ideal. Excellent opportunity based Cheltenham, nr Gloucester, Gloucestershire, nr Midlands. Real career promotion prospects to Department Head status as this company is growing extremely rapidly. Base salary depending purely on experience to C£55K plus bonus, pension, health etc.

If you are a telco core transmission and fibre technical expert who could fulfil a transmission and fibre technical authority role and is keen to progress their career into a senior technical authority and management position then I have the role for you.

My client based in Cheltenham is a growing global organisation that deliver communication network solutions using the latest technology. Their active customer base spans the globe and consists of multiple industry sectors including fixed and mobile network operators, communication system integrators, education, utilities, government and military forces. My clients solution portfolio is segmented into 3 areas - Core and Access Transmission, Synchronisation, Time & Frequency and Operational Support Systems.

Your role objective is to Project Engineer and be the authority on transmission and fibre tenders and be responsible for the laboratory. You would become the technical lead on ECI Telecom product suite and GPON. Training will be provided where necessary regards ECI Telecom and GPON. You would not necessarily be required to write bids/tenders but would ensure tenders are deliverable. You would matrix manage resources rather than have any direct man-management initially. You will have regular key customer contact including periodic customer meetings.

Key skills beyond telco core transmission and fibre expertise are strong base telecom skills and complementary technologies, customer facing, testing/lab experience. Candidates will be at an advantage if they have GPON fibre and vendor knowledge i.e ECI, Ericsson, Alcatel Lucent, Nokia Siemems, Virgin Media, BT

This position is commutable of Gloucester, Bristol, Hereford, Herefordshire, Warwickshire, Worcester, Worcestershire, Oxfordshire, Midlands.
