Graduate Mechanical Engineer, Manufacturing, Production, Commercial Engineer, Proposals & Pricing Engineer - core competencies; engineering drawings, CAD, to include geometric tolerancing, surface finish requirements, manufacturing processes and production engineering, to learn to process plan, and estimate final costings of finished product from raw material to completed items.

My client is a well established, leading manufacturing and engineering organisation specialising in CNC flexible machining using state of the art multi-pallet machine tools, manufacturing components for the aerospace and telecommunications industries.

Due to expansion an opportunity has arisen for a Commercial Mechanical Engineer, this role may suit a newly graduated Mechanical Engineer or a relatively junior Commercial Mechanical Engineer.

Candidates ABSOLUTELY MUST show an understanding of engineering drawings, to include geometric tolerancing, surface finish requirements and also types of surface treatments.

A general knowledge of manufacturing processes and production engineering skills will enable the candidate to process plan, and estimate final costings of finished product from raw material to completed items.

Your duties will include;
To process plan, and estimate final costings of finished product from raw material to completed items, supporting the sales team in the compilation of commercial estimates and tenders ensuring that financial targets are maintained, Assisting in the accuracy of estimates, the post holder will be expected to discuss manufacturing times, methods, material & sub contracting costs with relevant personnel, To obtain quotations from material & sub contract suppliers as required. To provide information to the sales team and to produce estimated delivery schedules at the time of quotation. From time to time and as directed by the Sales Director the post holder will be required to act as a Project Manager for specific customers or orders, To liaise with Production on the delivery requirements and work load implications of potential orders.

You will have a degree in mechanical engineering and have either some relevant commercial experience or the energy and enthusiasm to develop rapidly in this role.

Based Tewkesbury, near Cheltenham & Gloucester, also possibly commutable from parts of Hereford and Worcester Gloucestershire, Herefordshire, Worcestershire, Warwickshire, South West, Midlands.
