Business Development Lead – Cyber Security & Information Assurance

Salary: £60K - £80K

Car Allowance: £4,800pa

OTE: up to £24K

Our client provides a comprehensive range of sophisticated consultancy to the UK defence and security sectors, as well as adjacent markets. The Cyber Assurance area of the business has gone through a significant a growth period and they now need to hire a Business Development Lead.

Do you have a background in selling professional consultancy services into the Defence, Government or Security sectors? If so, this could be the position for you. As well as bringing a proven ‘cyber security’ or ‘information assurance’ consultancy background and sales pedigree to the party, you will have the opportunity to shape our clients cyber offering to the market.

Main responsibilities
  • Work closely with the Head of Cyber Security & Information Assurance to develop a sector-leader and business winning value proposition based on current strategic capabilities.
  • Subsequently, lead in all business development and sales activity to feed CS&IA Services a challenging flow of attractive and winnable opportunities.
  • You will target areas and opportunities for consolidation, innovation, disruption, and growth, as well as developing business opportunities in adjacent markets.
  • You will also generate draft written material for bid and tender submissions ensuring they meet both customer specifications and company standards.
  • Meet or exceed agreed order intake targets, as well as return on business development investment activity.
  • Provide market intelligence, strategic options and sales pipelines and forecasts into business planning activities.
  • Reinforce long-term client relationships and work streams, spanning multiple service offerings.
  • Seek and build new client relationships to ensure the business has a diverse and resilient client-base, encouraging enduring engagement.
  • Contribute as a member of the CS&IA Services management team, maintaining oversight of project delivery activity and quality, to ensure client expectations are suitably managed.
The Ideal Candidate
  • Have a demonstrable business development or sales record, in the defence and/or security sectors.
  • Have a technical background in CS&IA technologies, standards, frameworks, managed services, and risk-based concepts, complemented by a good working knowledge of CS&IA consultancy markets.
  • Currently hold UK Security Clearance or can gain Clearances.
Desirable Skills
  • Possess UK Defence Business Development experience
  • Have UK security sector business development and sales experience
  • Have an existing network of appropriate contacts and leading industry players (Tier 1 Primes and relevant defence and security agencies)
  • Can demonstrate your experience of related service provision and an understanding of potential future markets and the gaps to be exploited.
  • Have a current and up-to-date knowledge and understanding of related technology and service provision, preferably at an appropriate managerial or technical level.
  • Are qualified to degree level (bachelor’s or master’s), with appropriate professional accreditation and CS&IA certifications.
  • The personal drive and appetite to grow a successful business further, able to achieve stretch targets and business development goals.

Salary - £60k - £80k OTE Circa £100k
