My client is a leading consultancy, providing services such as Technical Authoring, Training, Obsolescence Management and Integrated Logistic Support (ILS) to clients across UK and Europe in sectors including Defence & Aerospace, Maritime, IT, Offshore, Power Generation, Utilities and local government authorities.

Business Development Manager

They are seeking a Business Development Manager to join their Sales and Marketing team and provide energy and impetus, developing clients and sales opportunities for their broad logistics product base.

The Business Development Manager will be an integral member of the team, pushing products into wider and non-defence markets as they look to continue their strong growth and quality offerings internationally. These markets will include e.g. offshore, shipping, energy, rail and other transport, pharmaceuticals, and facilities management.

To be considered for this role, applicants will need significant experience in a professional Business Development Management role, with a strong base of marketing competence and experience developed ideally in both Defence and non-Defence environments. Your experience will most likely involve the business development of consultancy services such as ILS, Training, Technical Authoring etc. You will have experience of Bid Management and Bid Writing as well as an understanding of the financial components of those bids and a good understanding of formal processes such as 'Shipley' etc.

You will need to have strong interpersonal skills as the role will involve working in a small and dynamic team, so you will need to demonstrate integrity, honesty and excellent team building abilities. You also be comfortable working alone, remotely and occasionally abroad.
