They are currently seeking a Civil Engineer to join their team in Bristol to produce and monitor Civil Engineering for the buildings on nuclear island projects and propose technical solutions.
Main accountabilities will include:
*Producing deliverables such as assumption notes, technical specifications, calculation notes.
*Coordinating the work of CAD Designers in conjunction with the Design Office Manager.
*Performing technical verifications of civil engineering documents.
*Creating and maintaining the Design Risk Register.
You will also be involved in progress monitoring and change management and support in the monitoring of the main civil engineering and equipment contracts.
The Civil Engineer will work closely with the Group Leader, Layout Coordinator and Layout Engineers, developing civil design solutions, describing them in CAD-tasks and coordinating the correct implementation into the PDMS-3D Model by the CAD Designer.
To be considered for this role, applicants will need to be qualified to degree level (or equivalent) in Civil Engineering with previous industry experience in the nuclear sector.
You will have the following knowledge/experience:
*Design office experience.
*Eurocodes related to civil engineering particularly EC2.
*Relevant Health and Safety regulations.
*Nuclear sector and plant layout engineering.
*Design of fastenings in concrete.
*Knowledge and experience of the design of reinforced concrete and pre-stressed concrete structures.
*Design of steelwork structures
*Ability to deal with design and layout constraints
*Nuclear civil work OR complex structure design
*Detailed design including review of deliverables such as structural calculations, reports, RC drawings in an office environment.
*Excellent stakeholder management
You will have experience of the following software packages:
*MS Office & Outlook
In addition, the following would be desirable:
*Experience with on-site design support
*Experience in previous EPR or other nuclear projects
*Experience of working in a fast pace engineering project environment
*French language skills - written & verbal
