Job Description

Our client is a globally respected Engineering, Design and Project Management consultancy. They work with defence, government and private sector organisations to transform the future of aerospace and defence engineering, understand the security threats they face and help them to develop the strategies to counter them.

Client Manager- Land and Maritime (Defence)

Due to current growth plans, they are looking for a Client Manager to join a dynamic team working on their MoD account, shaping and driving growth in their accounts area. Working closely with the wider market and delivery teams, you will be responsible for leading teams to win work and support wider business growth.

The Client Manager is a visible and active leader of Win Work activity, spending most of their time with clients and client-facing teams to identify and create opportunities and build a pipeline.

Responsibilities include:

Creating a high performing team that is client and sales focussed, creating and shaping opportunities with potential clients and driving the pursuit to a successful sale.
Creating and developing relationships with customers, establishing a personable but delivery focused rapport.
Forming a deep understanding of clients and their business, developing trusted partner status.
Horizon scanning to understand current and future trends.
Leading bid responses and developing attractive technical and commercial propositions
Building a medium- and long-term pipeline.
Prioritising personal and team sales activity.
Using Miller Heiman and SPINN methodologies to plan and execute sales activity (training provided).

To be considered for this role, applicants will need to possess a track record in business development in the Defence market (or may have undertaken military service within the DE&S environment), with a track record of delivery in relevant capabilities and accounts. Land or maritime domain experience would be ideal, as would experience of Engineering Service delivery and Consultancy and knowledge of system safety.
