This exciting, pioneering programme is at the go to market phase and therefore the commercial role is diverse and dynamic. A broad experience of working with both UK MOD as well as International commercial customers would benefit this role.
The successful candidate must be able and prepared to work across a number of different activities at different levels, ranging from supporting commercial and contractual negotiations as well as back office support and administrative tasks.
UK SC Security Clearance will be required to undertake the role.
Main tasks and responsibilities will include:
*Commercial management of tenders and associated commercial agreements to support new business opportunities as required (NDAs, teaming agreements, MOUs etc) - working closely with the legal department
*Provide commercial advice and guidance to the sales and solutions teams in shaping the price, scope and terms and conditions for sales opportunities, drawing in expertise from subject matter experts.
*Support internal reviews and maturity gates and administration of associated documentation
*Identification of commercial risks and legal/export/regulatory issues on individual deals and referring them to the appropriate level of management or specialist function for resolution.
*Management of existing contracts including change and claim management in accordance with company procedures and contractual requirements.
*Undertake contractual reporting as required under specific contract frameworks such as the UK MOD SSRO.
*Work with the procurement organisation to advise on key contractual obligations and risks in prime contract and ensure flow down and mitigation accordingly
*Management and administration of contracts databases
*Support, as required, to audit activities
*Support to wider contracts & commercial activities, process improvement etc
Required skills and experience:
*Degree level or equivalent business/legal qualification with a solid and proven experience in a commercial management role (min 10 years' experience)
*Proven contract management skills with a variety of customers and partners, in particular UK MOD, ESA, US DOD and Government departments as well as commercial telecoms customers (UK & International) would be an advantage.
*Broad knowledge and understanding of contractual terms and mechanisms for both equipment and service provision as well as partnering
*Ability to work in a flexible manner, on own initiative with limited day to day supervision and often within tight deadlines
*Good administrative skills and attention to detail
*Ability to operate at all levels, both internally and externally
*Good communication and inter-personal skills, comfortable in developing good working relationships with colleagues and customers.
Duration: 12 months
SC clearance is essential
