Job Description
You will be managing, with limited guidance, the execution of low to medium risk contracts or a portfolio of low risk contracts. You will also provide commercial and contractual advice and guidance to the business units and other commercial employees, and review, negotiate and conclude a range of agreements, including customer and supplier agreements, non-disclosure agreements, loan agreements.
As Commercial Officer, your main responsibilities will include:
Bookings of allocated contracts and audit trail recording
Inputs into information systems, database logs and company intranet
Review of terms and conditions of new contracts and contract changes and new contracts customer purchase orders, consultancy agreements, software licenses to identify risk and non-compliance to company policy
Instruction of/ creation of loan agreement preparation and compliance with company procedures
Review and negotiate supplier terms and conditions to identify and minimise risk and non-compliance to company policy on medium to low risk contracts
Flow down of appropriate customer contract terms to subcontractors
Instruction of/ creation of NDAs (Non-Disclosure Agreement) preparation
Support functional and business initiatives
Provides milestone planning to generate positive cash flow and appropriate contract cover
Work alongside and support the business area including Programme Managers, Finance and Engineering teams.
Develop and maintain a good working relationship with internal departments, customers and/ or subcontractors.
Attend internal and external meetings and provide day-to-day communication with the customer and sub-contractors.
Project a professional image for the Commercial function at all times.
Qualifications and Requirements
Relevant Commercial/Contract/legal experience
Typically requires degree level education and some experience, or equivalent.
A reasonable working knowledge of terms and conditions, contracts and other commercial documentation
Good awareness of commercial and contract management processes and procedures with an ability to generate audit trails and present approvals to senior management
IT literacy - adept at using in-house Contracts Management system, as well as standard office software packages
Ability to build relationships with customers and/ or subcontractors to discuss and resolve general issues
Ability to work independently, with minimal supervision
Good analytical & problem-solving skills
