As Commercial Officer you will be working in a small Commercial & Supply Chain team, playing an integral role in the delivery of a Commercial service to the Marine Training business. Working closely with Commercial & Finance colleagues as well as the contract management teams delivering to customers, you will be the primary day-to-day interface with the customer's Commercial representatives.
Your role will include: the provision of appropriate, timely and relevant advice & guidance on both specific contractual and general commercial matters; the organisation of relevant governance activities for proposals; the processing of contract amendments; assessing relevance and performance of KPIs; ensuring accuracy of invoicing against sales orders.

Your responsibilities will include:
Deliver a commercial service to a project or series of projects by undertaking commercial aspects of contracts and subcontracts, including payment and claims;
Act as the commercial representative and provide advice on contractual, commercial and governance issues for the Customer and supplier throughout the respective prime or subcontract lifecycle;
Ensure that tenders and contracts are conducted in accordance with commercial policies and processes in order to achieve profitable and compliant contracts;
Assist with commercial input and guidance in support of tendering activities to ensure compliance with corporate requirements
Prepare subcontract ITT's, evaluate tenders, make recommendations and place subcontracts within delegated levels of authority;
Ensure Company health, safety and environmental procedures are implemented and complied with at all times.
Education to HNC standard or a legal/CIPS/IACCM qualification. A comprehensive body of experience may be acceptable.
Previous working experience in contract administration
Able to proactively source & process data, identify & act as necessary on identified trends, monitoring progress against agreed objectives.
A reasonable understanding of Ministry of Defence and commercial based contractual Terms and Conditions is very desirable
Demonstrably good planning, organisational and administration skills with ability to work on own initiative.
Good communication and negotiation skills.
