Domestic Energy Engineer/Modeller
They are currently looking for a Domestic Energy Engineer/Modeller to join their team in either Central Birmingham or Derby to support work in the development and use of dynamic simulation of energy in homes and related modelling and analysis activities.
JOB DESCRIPTION
The Domestic Energy Engineer/Modeller will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to the development and application of a dynamic simulation toolkit and other models across a range of projects. This includes analysis of measured data and tuning of models. The job includes;
*Support delivery of modelling projects and activities, working with internal colleagues and with external stakeholders.
*Undertaking analysis and interpretation of modelling results to produce insights and inform solution development.
*Responsible for managing own workload and working closely with colleagues and project teams including the Business Leader, Line Manager and Technical Leads to meet project commitments within agreed schedules. Report clearly and effectively to line and senior management
*Deliver analysis, deliverables and outputs to high standards of robustness including adherence to quality checking and version control processes
*Support understanding and use of modelling assets by others internally and externally. Ensuring resilience in its application and use. Ensure relevant modelling assets are effectively configuration managed with clear supporting documentation
*Provide responsive support and input to meet the needs of the team and wider business.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
*Degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant discipline (Software, physical science, engineering, mathematics)
*Proven experience in the development and use of dynamic simulations of physical systems involving heat transfer and fluid flow.
*Energy sector experience.
*Proven experience in relation to domestic energy and building physics.
*Ability to produce high quality analysis and reports
*Excellent communication skills
*Able to work collaboratively with colleagues and external stakeholders
*Attends and contributes positively to team meetings and workshops
*Challenges constructively and communicate effectively and clearly on complex issues with a focus on the problem and outcome
