Job Description

My client is looking for an Electronics Systems Engineer to work within their growing Electronic and Test Architecture UK Functional Team. Technical Project Electronic engineers are involved in all aspects of product development, from the early concept studies to series production support within their company and may be responsible for managing the technical aspects of development with their major equipment suppliers.

This role provides a wide scope of tasks and a unique opportunity to broaden technically within a growing company and high capability design teams. Exposure to complex and technologically advanced projects and products provides a stimulating experience. There are opportunities to become a Team Leader within the CDE Project teams as an interim step to becoming a CDE.

About the role:

*Responsible for defining the electrical architecture for all variants of a munition / systems, ensuring the electrical architecture and interfaces meet the requirements.
*Technically manage internal and external suppliers for delivery of sub-system work packages to time, cost, quality & performance requirements
*Responsible for producing Statements of Work and plans for the design and development of weapon systems sub-systems.
*Interface with and manage customer expectations throughout the development process.
*Responsible for controlling any assigned budgets
*Ensure modularity and reuse objectives are achieved.
*Able to technically supervise engineers within the team and indirectly manage engineers in the extended project team.

You will have the following experience:

*Ideally educated to degree level or an equivalent qualification with experience of electronic design engineering at a systems level.
*Ability to technically manage internal and sub-contract activities
*Strong leadership skills, able to establish a clear engineering vision
*Ability to influence managers and other stakeholders across the company
*Strong interpersonal and well-developed communication skills (written & verbal)
*Willingness to travel when required
*Ideally an understanding of engineering disciplines associated with aerospace products.
