Job Description

We are looking for an Engine Test Technician to support helicopter modification projects for our aerospace engineering client in Gosport. Working as part of a multidiscipline team, you will be responsible for tasks related to the Disassembly, Assembly, Inspection, Balancing, Airflow and Test of a Gas Turbine Engines in accordance with the manufacturer specification and company procedures.

As Engine Test Technician your main responsibilities will include:

Disassemble Test Equipment on engines as per the manufacturer's instructions;
Assemble Test Equipment on main engine, modules and all sub-assemblies;
Test engines and components as per the manufacturer's instructions;
Prepare engine for dispatch;
Carry out any routine maintenance required and ensure all test rigs and measuring equipment are satisfactory, calibrated and safe for use, rectifying any unsafe conditions within the jobholder's capability;
Release engines to service;
Ensure all repairs/test results, supporting and certifying documentation are checked and completed to the required standard;
Conduct all work in accordance with company policies, health and safety procedures, quality procedures, manufactures and customer specification and industry regulations;
Raise Non-conformance reports as necessary;
Comply with the Detailed Work Instruction (DWI) or Engineering Repair Instruction (ERI);
Complete all documents related to the work being performed;

Qualifications and Requirements

Previous engineering experience is essential
Knowledge of principles and operation of gas turbine engines;
Knowledge and experience of aircraft documentation practices and significance;
Additional training/experience in a technical field;
Ability to use basic hand tools;
Ability to use and care for precision measuring and torque devices.
Familiarity with quality procedures and documentation including process paperwork, parts routing procedures, Engineering Repair Instructions, Detailed Work Instructions and Non-Conformance Report system;
Working knowledge of Engine publications and work instructions including overhaul and maintenance manuals, parts catalogues and service bulletins.
