The objective of this position is to support the business through management and delivery of operational services including resource provision and allocation, operational compliance (internal and external), people capability development (training needs analysis and delivery, line management of graduates, apprentices and placements), and leadership of STEM
You would be joining a world-leader in the integration of cutting-edge defence and security systems, delivering decisive advantage to military, government and civil customers worldwide.
Your responsibilities would include:
oWork with PMs and Lead Engineers to manage resource demands/allocation across all Engineering activity
oManagement of approved recruitment
oSubcontract extension approval based on total resource picture
oManagement of resource capability flex - permanent/subcontract staffing
oResolution of tactical resource needs
Engineering Capability Development
oAnnual training needs analysis and training delivery
oCapability development roadmaps (people/tools/methodologies/process)
Electronic Systems Engineering Process
oEngineering Handbook definition
Management of Operational Compliance
oQCI, Timecards, Q12, mandatory training, ratings, etc
oLine management support, HR/regulatory compliance
oLine Management of the apprentices
Lead STEM/work experience events
~ Enthusiasm for development of engineering careers at all levels
~ Ability to interact with Engineers, and Programme Managers within ES
~ Flexibility to move across all parts of Engineering Operations within a working day
~ Organization and planning skills to meet deadlines
~ Negotiation skills sufficient to resolve conflicting resource demands
~ Ability to line manage Graduates, Apprentices, Placement students etc.
~ IT literacy, specifically Access and Excel proficiency, to support Headcount Forecasting and Training Needs Analysis
~ Knowledge of Engineering processes (systems, hardware, software)
~ Skills and specialisms to support resource assignment and development preferred
~ Experience of team leadership or people management required
~ Degree level education, and staff and/or technical project/process management experience, or equivalent preferred.
Engineering Operations Manager - Resource Planning, People Development
£45,000 - £55,000
Due to the nature of work undertaken at our client's site, incumbents of these positions are required to meet special nationality rules and therefore these vacancies are only open to sole British Citizens.
