Job Description

Do you want pursue business development and sales activities mainly concerning engineering services to the aerospace sector? The single most important objective of the Sales Manager will be to develop our services linked to configuration management. He/she will grow existing customers and develop new ones in both the new aircraft and retrofit markets.

About the role:

*To be the lead for bid activity across all Product Streams, co-ordinating the commercial, engineering and quality inputs and drafting bids / proposals.
*To prepare and present relevant data to existing and prospective clients.
*To progress bid submissions through successful bid closure and PO receipt.
*To manage customer interfaces in conjunction with the Commercial and Engineering functions and to take a lead role in building positive client working relationships and high levels of customer satisfaction which retain established business and lead to possible repeat business. To globally support aerospace transnational business development.
*To lead the Bid / No Bid decision process.
*To identify and manage risks.
*To support the Sales and Marketing Director in business plan development.

You will have the following experience:

*Degree or equivalent in an engineering subject, ideally mechanical and/or commercial management.
*Experience in the aerospace sector, relevant to the above-mentioned areas of interest.
*Experience in a similar role in an aerospace environment, with a demonstrable track record of achievement and bringing business prospects to contract closure.
*Excellent commercial and financial acumen.
*Proven and genuine network within the UK aerospace industry.
*Strong engineering understanding and awareness.
*Good understanding of IT systems and software.
*Excellent written and spoken English mandatory, French is a plus.
*Ability to produce concise, structured and innovative written reports and bid proposals.
*Good knowledge of aerospace's principal markets and customers.
