Job Description

Enterprise Linux Administrator

Our client is a world leader in the design and manufacture of avionics antennas and electrical control systems for military and civil communications. Also world leaders in in radar and RF interference mitigation. They are recruiting for an Enterprise Linux administrator to establish and manage the Linux environments across the company IT Environment. This is a new role and a chance to make the position your own.
This is an opportunity to work for a global business working at a cutting edge R&D facility joining an experienced team to continue the development of world leading integrated communications environment products.
Key Responsibilities:
*Proactively maintain and develop all Linux infrastructure technology to maintain a 24x7x365 uptime service.
* Maintain best practices on managing systems and services across all Linux environments.
* Fault finding, analysis and of logging information for reporting of performance exceptions.
* Manage, coordinate, and implement software upgrades, patches, hot fixes on servers, workstations, and network hardware.
*Provide input on ways to improve the stability, security, efficiency, and scalability of the environment.
*Collaborate with other teams and team members to develop automation strategies and deployment processes.
*Incident and problem ticket logging, ownership and update through to resolution.
*Reacting to threats and security breaches as they occur as well as proactively ensuring all systems conform to penetration tests.
*Controlling and managing user access for customers and internal staff.
*Investigating and resolving performance and scalability issues.
*Documenting new systems and any changes to systems ensuring all service artefacts are maintained to a high standard.
*Work within our compliance policy, process and records management framework.
Key Skills:
*SME level knowledge of Linux: Apt & RPM Based Systems (Centos, RedHat, Debian, etc)
*Experience with cloud platforms, such as AWS and Azure
*Hands on experience in Shell, Perl, and/or Python scripting
*Familiarity with VMWare, SAN management and DR and HA concepts
*Strong Background
