Job Description

A Graduate Contracts Officer is required by our engineering and maritime systems client in North London. You will be responsible for providing commercial support, acumen and advisory service across all departments within the business. The role will ideally suit someone who has a strong interest in pursuing a career in the Contract and Commercial Management profession, who either comes from a similar employment background, or any other related profession or academia such as Law.

You will have the following responsibilities:

Responsible for generating, reviewing, drafting, and negotiating a wide range of contractual documents, such as, Supply and Purchase Contracts, Confidentiality Agreements, Teaming Agreements, Licensing Agreements, Standard Terms and Conditions, Escrow, and other Intellectual Property Right Agreements.
Responsible for supporting the bid team in the review of Terms and Conditions which encompasses drafting and negotiation of the contract.
When required, to support the bid team with responding to RFQs and tenders, which includes the generation and pricing of new bids, liaising with relevant departments such as Engineering and Programmes to support the bid proposal, identifying and mitigating any commercial risks, generating the commercial proposal, and attending tender-vet sign-off.
Responsible for ensuring commercial integrity of submitted tenders and proposals, and conducting contract reviews
Day-to-day managing of contracts, including customer relationship management.

Qualifications & Experience

Degree Level qualification or equivalent relevant experience
Formal legal training would be an advantage.
Advantageous to have previous professional experience in a similar role within an international and interdisciplinary environment.
Good knowledge of UK and International contract law principles and legislation with a good commercial acumen to identify and mitigate risks.
Good understanding of drafting and management of contracts
Strong communicator, both in writing and verbal; able to assess and adjust presentation and content to target audiences
Pragmatic and commercially alert - effective at identifying and assessing risk, mitigations and risk management
Experienced in the use of the Microsoft Office suite especially Word, Excel and PowerPoint
