Job Description

My client, a world leader in the defence sector, requires a Group Category Manager (Employee Benefits & HR Consultancy) to join their Indirect Procurement Team in Stevenage.

The Group Category Manager (Employee Benefits & HR Consultancy) will support group managers on all HR related matters, working with the HR specialist functions from an HR governance and compliance perspective and with Global HR Business Partners from a business strategic perspective. You will also be responsible for the procurement of consultancy services at national level.

The Role will include:
*Responsibility for the tender process, the collection of needs from internal stakeholders, provision of support on drafting specifications, management of the competition process through to selection of suppliers, contract signature and implementation.
*Ensuring the control of legal risks of your contract (in respect of employment law, intellectual property law, obligation to provide advice, confidentiality, etc.)
*Market intelligence to identify trends and innovations for HR & Consultancy services.
*Defining a global sourcing strategy, applying competitive methodologies to drive down prices to achieve and preferably exceed pre-agreed performance targets.
*Conducting competitions at a global and local level.
*Preparing, negotiating and agreeing supplier contracts and frame agreements and ensuring that these are being used effectively by the internal stakeholders.
*Managing global supplier reviews with preferred and key suppliers in conjunction with contract milestones and SLAs.
*Managing risks within the categories, escalating to the Domain Lead where relevant.
*Managing contract expiration and maintaining contracts for assigned categories.
*Measuring and improving contract utilisation.
*Performing local communication on new contracts and introducing new suppliers to challenge the current supplier base.
*Building supplier relationships that generate value for both the company and suppliers.
*Guaranteeing the correct suppliers' development, defining and monitoring agreed KPIs target to manage the performance.

To be considered for this role, applicants will need to be qualified to degree level or hold a professional accreditation in a relevant commercial subject, with experience in a similar procurement role covering employee benefits, HR consultancy services or similar. You will have experience of fundamental purchasing activities including the basic rules and contractual principles, contract definition, deliverables, deadlines, commitment of results etc.

You will possess confidence in negotiating with suppliers and making recommendations to internal stakeholders and the experience to write contracts and framework agreements, as well as experience in preparing reports and dashboards to detail the activity in the categories for local and senior managers. You will have the ability to optimise your purchasing category by taking into account its strategic, tactical and operational aspects and will be able to use your excellent communication skills and expertise to advise your internal clients.
