You will be working globally with contractors and primes on highly-regulated programmes across defence, energy, space, and intelligence & systems. My client is seeking a Group Security Controller who will manage the delivery of all aspects of protective security, ensuring it aligns with and complies with both client and company policies.
There is a requirement to travel in order to effectively support all site based Security Controllers and attend appropriate training and events. The Group Security Controller will be responsible for supporting a team of site based Security Controllers, plus security administration staff. They will work with and liaise with colleagues in other work streams and the wider business community.
About the Role:
*Security Management: An in depth knowledge and understanding of technical specifications for operational security requirements and the definition of proportionate protective measures for people, assets and information.
*Security Risk Management: Experience in risk management and the ability to identify and manage critical business assets and threats within a risk regime, aligned to industry best practices. Influence strategic decisions as required.
*List-X Security Controller: An in depth experience of Government security. Will undertake duties to implement and maintain the Company's List-X status across company List X sites with the support of site based Security Controllers. Ensure latest information from MOD Net and other sources.is gathered effectively and actioned or flowed down as appropriate.
*List N: Will provide support and guidance in collaboration with the Head of ICT & S to the Heads of Business to prepare for and administer List N requirements as part of company's plan to expand into the Civil Nuclear Supply Chain.
*Security Governance: Work to define and create the security compliance framework in line with business standards and regulatory requirements in collaboration with the Group Compliance Manager. Drive the communication and training required to ensure all relevant users have an appropriate level of understanding and lead where appropriate in the area of protective security.
*Intelligence and Counter Intelligence: Maintain awareness of intelligence based operations. Work effectively through Heads of Business and Site Security Controllers to ensure the company adapts to current global events and emerging threats. Use intelligence and threat analysis to influence operational business decisions to protect people and assets. Create and grow relationships within industry bodies, peer groups, forums and other events to maximise knowledge and understanding and work with the Head of ICT & S to influence decision makers in all arenas for the benefit of the company and the Defence Sector.
*Personnel Security: Obtain and maintain a thorough knowledge and understanding of the requirements for vetting. Implement and support the delivery of vetting assurance activities to drive efficiencies in processes and standards in personnel security administration. Ensure sufficient checks and audits are in place to prevent clearances being issued or transferred incorrectly or allowed to lapse in error.
*Physical Security: Obtain and maintain a thorough knowledge and understanding of the requirements for physical security, with particular emphasis on List N and List X requirements. Work in collaboration with MOD Accreditors to ensure the requirements are met and attend sites when Customer or MOD accreditors are attending. Notify the Head of ICT & S of any potential issues on non-compliances in physical security.
You will have the following experience:
*Previous security administration experience (preferably within a UK Defence environment).
*Thorough knowledge of internal and external security legislation and policy.
*Membership of the Defence Industry Security Association (DISA) and completion of the DISA Security Controllers Introductory Course.
*Good working knowledge of Windows and IT systems, and technical security systems such as intruder alarms, CCTV, access control.
*The knowledge and ability to understand the organisation' commercial environment. Be able to position themselves, their role and their actions to support the organisations commercial success.
Preferred but not essential:
*BTEC Level 3 Certificate in Security Management, CISSP, CISA or equivalent.
*Membership of Team Defence, ListXtranet, CPNI Extranet, The Security Institute etc.
