You will be providing Commercial guidance plus leadership of the Commercial Staff. You will ensure that the risks, liabilities and commitments of Contractual Agreements that the company enters into are clearly understood and that the business fully appreciates such risks liabilities and commitments.
As Head of Commercial, you will act as a member of the Business Unit management team contributing to day to day oversight and where necessary contribute to the future strategic direction of the Business Unit, including aspects outside the Commercial functional responsibilities
As Head of Commercial, your main responsibilities will include:
Prime Commercial responsibility for the Business Unit, including delivery of the Operational aspects of the business.
Lead the relevant Commercial function allocating workload, setting objectives and ensuring communication across the Business Unit.
Lead negotiations on contractual terms and conditions with new and existing customers to minimise liability. This will include involvement in pricing strategies and taking into consideration the customer needs and business requirements in order to maximise profit margins.
Work alongside the Business Unit VP, Directors, and other Management team members to identify opportunities and create business strategies.
Address all liability issues affecting the Business Unit operations as they arise, this includes compliance with export control regulations.
Develop and maintain a good working relationship with customers (internal and external) and strategic subcontractors. Build a rapport with key players in each community. Look for future opportunities wherever possible.
Support tender and bid proposal activity, whether as a contributor or as part of a Review team
Lead the development of the Commercial team members ensuring they are equipped with the appropriate skills in order to deliver against the business needs.
Qualifications and Requirements
Minimum HNC/HND in a business/finance related subject. Ideally degree level, with extensive experience in this field.
Demonstrable experience of leading teams
