About the Job:
The client requires a strong Systems Engineer with full lifecycle experience and a background in Integration to work as an Innovation Architect to look at the state-of-the-art technologies of today and how these can be combined with new defence systems. Typical activities will include;
*Define - Undertake a technology horizon scanning activity to map out the technology readiness of key and defined technologies such as - Quantum, Artificial Intelligence, Autonomous Systems, VR/AR
*Source - Identify the potential sources for a technology of interest. This will encompass the whole spectrum ranging from academic research through start-ups, SME's through to large corporates.
*Analyse - Undertake a systems analysis, working with stakeholders to elaborate the benefits and risks that the technology can potentially bring in terms of delivering new or enhancing existing military capability.
*Demonstrate - Working in partnership with key stakeholders and the inhouse Innovation Collaboration and Engagement lab, create concept demonstrations and visualisations.
*Consolidate - Capture stakeholder feedback to further refine and mature the system proposition and identify a future plan of activity.
To be the right fit for this Innovation Architect job, you will ideally need a strong science or engineering background with proven full systems lifecycle experience (especially integration). A broad understanding of a wide range of emerging and enabling technologies and the ability to explain complex concepts in simple terms to non-technical stakeholders. Experience of integrating cutting-edge technology into real-world defence systems would also be very useful.
