My client is a major global engineering company that has always been renowned for its innovative engineering, operating across a variety of sectors and industries including space, aerospace, land and maritime. Operating as a group, my client offers a range of technologies and services to help solve challenging problems across commercial, defence and security markets. They are currently recruiting for an IT Security Analyst.
Based in Dorset, they are a well-established, highly respected provider of technical products and services to the UK and international Defence and Aerospace market. As well as global leaders in the provision of advanced wireless coverage and mobile communications systems, producing innovative, cost-effective solutions that address market requirements for improved connectivity, greater capacity and better quality of experience.
The IT security analyst will have a variety of key responsibilities, mainly including performing day to day SOC functions, internal consultancy on IT security, and providing security solutions.

About the job:
*Act upon security events: participation in the day to day running of the SOC , managing request and incidents logged in management systems such as Remedy and Assure or reported directly, to ensure that threats, vulnerabilities, and breaches are managed to minimize impact to confidentiality, integrity, and availability of systems and data.
*Attend risk assessments where appropriate to determine and record mitigating actions to identified risks.
*Run the vulnerability scanning solution and ensure actions are tracked, develop simple scripts to assist with the ongoing analysis of a security event or incident.
*Perform quarterly network and wireless vulnerability assessments, create service requests with support teams to address weaknesses found and monitor and report on progress.
*Assist with forensic data capture and analysis under supervision when requested.
*Maintain up-to-date detailed knowledge of the IT security industry including awareness of new or revised solutions, improved processes and the development of new attacks and threat vectors
*Recommend additional security solutions or enhancements to existing security solutions to improve overall enterprise security.As subject matter expert for operational security, provide advice and guidance to other teams within the business on good practice and maintain relevant and current industry knowledge through publications, events, and training.
*Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
*Not less than 3 years experience of SOC and governance.

*Filtering products (ideally Websense)
*McAfee Endpoint protection
*Configuration and ITIL

Microsoft Certified Solutions expert: Security
(ISC)2: SSCP, CISSP
GIAC: GCCC, GICSP
Familiarity with Carbon Black Response
Familiarity with LogRythm SIEM
Familiarity with Rapid 7 vulnerability tools
