My client is looking for an experienced Lead Product Engineer. They are a power management company with 2016 sales of $19.7 billion. They provide energy-efficient solutions that help our customers effectively manage electrical, hydraulic and mechanical power more efficiently, safely and sustainably. They are dedicated to improving the quality of life and the environment through the use of power management technologies and services. They have approximately 96,000 employees and sell products to customers in more than 175 countries.
The primary function for this position is to work within their Centre of Excellence supporting manufacturing divisions in the production of electrical products; other responsibilities include failure and root cause analysis.
-Local technical lead for continuous improvement activity relating to Electrical products
-Support Manufacturing Engineering with design related issues including review and approval of permits, concessions and Engineering Change Requests
-Evaluate, select, and adapt criteria, techniques, and procedures to solve manufacturing issues
-Conduct research, tests and analytical tasks to develop data for solution to problems for which precedents may be limited or not applicable
-Design for reliability (DFR), Design for Manufacture (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) are expected, leading to practical production designs in conjunction with other disciplines within the Engineering and Manufacturing departments
-Support ideation events and design studies. Prepare and review engineering proposals, performance specifications, technical reports and papers
Key Skills and Responsibilities
-Engineering Degree in relevant subject (e.g. Electrical, Mechatronics, etc.) is an asset
-Relevant work experience in the area of electromechanical component design and manufacturing support up to 20-kilowatt range
-Stator and Rotor design for manufacture
-Strong technical problem-solving skills
-Transformer, Rectifier and wound component (Inductors & chokes) testing
-Practical understanding of design techniques for electromagnetic compatibility (EMC)
-Motor design for the Aerospace Industry is preferred
-Capable of working effectively and efficiently under pressure
-Capable of leading projects/investigations

-Salary - Negotiable depending on experience
