Job Description

Our client is a world leader in the provision of high-technology power conversion and control solutions, signature management systems, underwater measurement ranges and high integrity sensors for a wide range of defence applications.

They are looking for a Lead Sensor Engineer to be based out of their site in Staffordshire.

The Lead Sensor Engineer is a key role within the world leading Sensor team, working on the design and supply of magnetic and electric field sensors. The team possesses capabilities that span from detailed modelling of sensor chemistry and magnetic fields to the definition, design, integration and commission of these sensors and their associated electronics worldwide. This role will be part of a close-knit friendly hardware team focused on maintaining this recognised technical excellence.

This role will lead the development and support of new and existing sensors and sensor systems. You will become the expert in magnetic and electric field sensors for the company and this will require you to be involved in all aspects of the design lifecycle from strategy through bid support to design and support to production.

To be considered for this role, applicants will need to be qualified, ideally to degree level, in a relevant engineering subject, such as Electronic Engineering.

The ideal background for this role is knowledge of low noise analogue electronics design and knowledge of magnetic or electric field sensors.

However, our client is also keen to see applications from candidates with knowledge of low noise analogue electronics and the willingness/ability to expand their understanding into the sensors design field.

You will need to have a proactive approach to engineering and problem solving with some understanding of project management and document writing from proposals to test and technical documents.
