Job Description

Our Client is expanding their software engineering team to meet the demands of a growing portfolio of new and exciting projects in the energy market sector.
The software team are part of a wider cross functional team and as such work on a broad spectrum of activities, ranging from support through to software development, test and integration.
You will be part of a team covering all aspects of software development lifecycle, working with both internal and external stakeholders delivering high quality software solutions.
Key Responsibilities
*Deliver high quality cloud-based software solutions to satisfy customer requirements.
*Ensure that quality standards are high for the software developed by the team.
*Work with the other developers to produce a platform architecture the ensures the platforms and data are secure whilst maintaining performance.
*Develop and maintain tools and processes to facilitate the efficient and timely delivery of projects.
*Further build the Software Development Team by recruiting the right people and helping them to integrate into the team.
*Provide guidance, support and performance management for the Software Development Team.
*Work with internal and external stakeholders, Business Analysts and Dev Ops to design, develop and deploy high-quality, maintainable cloud software solutions to meet product requirements.
*Lead the investigation and resolution of issues in new and existing cloud software/features.
*Own and continuously improve the software development processes and tools to help software development with an agile mindset..
Key Skills
*Strong academic background i.e., Bachelor's level in degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or similar.
*Ability to apply software quality standards across the team, encouraging practices such as test-driven development, pair programming, coding standards and the use of tools for ensuring quality.
*Excellent knowledge of principles in software developer such as SOLID and OOP design patterns.
*Should have a sound knowledge of both front-end software development and back-end software development.
*Have significant knowledge of either Java, or JavaScript, ideally both; especially focussed on the Spring and Angular frameworks.
*An ability to design solutions that will satisfy customer requirements.
*Excellent knowledge and experience of working with SQL (MS SQL Server, PostgreSQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB) databases and configuring for resilience and efficiency.
*Experience using queues such as RabbitMQ or Hornet Q and stream processing software such as Kafka.
*Knowledge and experience of version control software, branching strategies and repository technology, ideally Git, GitHub and GitLab
*Experience of configuring and implementing CI/CD pipelines.
*Experience of working in Agile/Scrum development teams
*Good understanding and practical knowledge of software design patterns
