We have a fantastic opportunity for a LTP Engineer (Local Transport Plan) to be based in the buzzing and vibrant town of Bournemouth. As a LTP Engineer, your main responsibilities will be/include:
*To assist in implementing the Local Transport Plan and associated Capital Programme
*Ensuring the delivery of a Programme of schemes, that maximise LTP outcomes and objectives.
*To assist in delivering statutory and service unit objectives relating to the Local Transport Plan and major scheme bids
*Produce annual progress and delivery reports to be submitted to and assessed by the Government
*Identifying, monitoring and mitigating risks to the delivery programmes
*Determining and prioritising the allocation of the LTP Capital funding, and establishing an appropriate programme of schemes
*Procuring, and project managing internal/partnering/external consultants
*Assessing scheme benefits and performance using appropriate modelling i.e. SATURN, Linsig, Microsimulation etc.
*Development and co-ordination of emerging and future transportation plans and strategies, complex and involved projects leading to the development, production and implementation of the LTP programme
*To work with the public, elected members, other council departments, government and external organisations and partners to determine and implement the objectives of the unit
*To assist the LTP and Capital Programme Manager in managing the resources of the section, including staff and budgets in order to maximise outcomes.
Successful candidates will have/be:
*Degree with appropriate Civil/Transportation Engineering emphasis (or equivalent)
*Chartered Engineer/ Transport Planner status or equivalent level qualification in engineering/transport
*Significant relevant experience in feasibility, design, supervision of traffic/highway schemes
*Proven Team/Project/Programme Management experience
* Knowledge of DfT criteria and design standards/traffic legislation
*Sound understanding of Central Government transport policy and Local Transport Plan development
*Experienced in Programme Delivery
*Detailed understanding of highway legislation and design standards
*Excellent communication, diplomacy, presentation and IT skills
*Ability to supervise staff, work as part of a team and on own initiative
*Full UK Driving Licence
