Our client is a Software Development company working in the field of Additive Manufacturing, developing new and unique technology to enable secure, reliable distributed manufacturing for AM technology.
They are currently seeking a Machine Learning Engineer to join their team.
The Machine Learning Engineer will predominantly undertake software development, but will also be involved across the entire product lifecycle: business decisions, research, design, planning, project management, technical documentation, meeting with external partners and clients etc.
Additive manufacturing is a rapidly evolving industry, so there will be new projects and people to work with on a regular basis. Working with new approaches and technologies, you will have a fundamental impact in how the company evolves.
To be considered for this role, applicants will need to be qualified to Post-graduate or PhD level in Machine Learning with previous professional experience in developing Machine Learning systems, ideally for a hardware product (e.g. aerospace or medical sector products). This can be as part of research as long as collaboration has been with industry.
You will need to have good theoretical grounding in core Machine Learning concepts and techniques with the ability to perform comprehensive literature reviews and provide critical feedback on state-of-the-art solutions and how they may fit to different operating constraints. Experience in the analysis of machine sensor data would be ideal (e.g. analysis of data for the improvement of issues such as NDT).
As part of a small team developing products for a new technology field, your input on technologies, designs and strategies will be highly valued. Therefore, our client is looking for people who are quick learners, able to learn new technologies for project goals, investigate and propose new technical approaches. They also need
the ability to work with requirements that do not specify every detail and be comfortable suggesting refinements and interface designs keeping in mind the end user experience.
You will need to have good oral and written communications skills and the ability to collaborate well in a team environment, developing relationships with external partners.
