Job Description

My client is seeking an experienced Fabrication Manufacture Engineer to join their Production department within Defence Systems Technology (DST) based in Ashton, Bristol.

Candidate with experience in Manufacture Engineering of products with high complexity and low volume will be of a great interest to my client. The successful applicant will join a diverse and dynamic team of production, project, engineering and other functional staff working together to deliver exciting cutting edge defence projects to UK and international clients.

About the role:

*Working closely with the Production Engineering Manager as part of a central production engineering team.
*It is expected that the successful candidate will take full ownership of the assigned tasks to assist in achieving the project objectives.
*Use an ERP System to create requisitions for materials, produce manufacture routings and shop orders for fabricated and welded components up to 15 tonnes of complex construction and high integrity.
*Expected to carry out 'Design for Manufacture' with our design teams and support our procurement team with equipment in the Supply Chain.

Required Experience / Qualifications

*Proven Fabrication Manufacture Engineering experience.
*Must have completed a fabrication / plating apprenticeship plus minimum additional 5 years shop floor experience.
*Extensive fabrication manufacturing knowledge and ability to estimate operation manufacture cycle times of single piece part components
*Knowledge of welding and NDT processes.

Desirable Skills

*Ability to carry out estimating of large fabrications using 2D drawings and 3D models.
*Some understanding of machining processes.
*Competent to use an ERP system (e.g. SAP or IFS)
*Continuous improvement and implementation of lean manufacture techniques.

The role will require all employees to achieve and maintain SC security clearance or above without restrictions that will inhibit the individual's ability to fulfill the requirements of the role.
