Job Description
Mechanical Automation Engineer
This is an exciting opportunity for a Mechanical Automation Engineer to join the team creating new manufacturing equipment to satisfy increasing customer demands. The role will give you the opportunity to design impressive and creative solutions to manufacturing plant problems. You will take ownership of projects from initial concept through to completion within a volume production environment, working closely with the Manufacturing and Product Engineering departments to ensure the manufacturing facility delivers the highest standards of products.
To be considered for this role, you are likely to be qualified to degree level (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Automation or a similar subject.
You will have experience of engineering design and will be skilled in the use of design tools, with a pragmatic mindset and a desire to build value into your work from initial design phases through to manufacture.
You will have extensive applied 3D CAD experience (ideally SolidWorks) with experience in the design of new automated equipment, processes, procedures and systems within a manufacturing environment.
In addition to the above requirements, the following would be beneficial:
*Experience with robotics, PLC programming and HMI set-up beneficial
*Knowledge of electric motors and/or hybrid drives useful
*Experience of production engineering and/or lean manufacturing beneficial
