About the Job

We're looking to recruit Construction Engineers to join the team working on Hinkley Point C, the first nuclear power station to be built in the UK for 20 years. As a Mechanical Construction Engineer, you'll undertake mechanical construction related activities associated with the 'Balance of Nuclear Island' (BNI) project.

Using your experience of large-scale multi-discipline construction projects, you'll develop construction strategies for the installation of plant and equipment on site and generate technical reports - carrying out reviews alongside the internal team, the client and external contractors. You'll also be involved in the production of associated Safe Systems of Work, including method statements, risk assessments (such as CDM reviews, and HAZOP and HAZID studies), inspection and test plans.

The role will initially be based in Bristol at Aztec West, and/or the client's site in central Bristol - but will eventually transfer onto the Hinkley Point C site. Some UK travel may be expected in supporting the constructability reviews and may include travel to France. The successful candidate must be able to achieve the appropriate security clearance level for this role.

Qualifications / Experience

HNC in a Mechanical Engineering discipline alongside an IOSH Managing Safely (or other equivalent health and safety qualification).
High integrity piping design and installation
Development and production of detailed delivery work packs for site installation activities
Preparation of risk assessments and method statements for site-based activity
Emergency and security arrangements/ plans
Lifting Plans
You'll need to be able to deploy good communication and influencing skills as you'll work closely with the client and our internal and external stakeholders.
