Your responsibilities will include:
To create optimal design solutions to address specified requirements.
Produce substantiation calculations to demonstrate designs will perform, as required.
Author and update technical documents.
Manage your delivery against Time, Cost and Quality requirements.
Support the QA process through review or checking colleagues' work.
Present your work to the client at formal reviews.
Work within project teams, these may include placements at clients' sites.
Skills and Qualifications:
Degree in Mechanical Engineering or closely related subject, or equivalent relevant experience
A sound understanding of mechanical engineering principles and their application.
Experienced in the production of design documentation and calculations in a nuclear context
Experience working to industry design codes and standards
Proven record of delivering technically challenging projects
Motivated to meet delivery targets without compromising quality.
Experience of working in a nuclear context
Experience in one or more of the following technical disciplines is desirable:
High integrity mechanical handling equipment and operation in a safety critical environment
Finite Element Analysis (ABAQUS, LS-DYNA or similar)
Computer Aided Design
Involvement in testing/commissioning of equipment into service
Experience in an equivalent safety critical industry is also desirable.
