Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Payroll Manager to join a Technology and Defence business. Our client is a leading global technology and services innovator who provides products worldwide in Commercial, Military, Satellite and Security markets.

As a Payroll Manager you'd be responsible for the day to day running of the payroll function of 400 with the scope to move to 600 people including some international sites. The Payroll Managers position will be to facilitate the accurate and timely processing of monthly payroll, administration of company benefits including pensions and salary sacrifice benefits.

As a Payroll Manager your key responsibilities will include:

-Accurately run the monthly payroll in a timely manner including overtime processing for final review and sign off
-Timely production reports for pensions and company benefits
-Review tax changes, student loans and other statutory changes
-Produce regular and ad-hoc reports from ADP for the business
-Proactively support or lead continuous improvement activities or projects
-Producing P60's & P11D's
-Responding to enquiries from employees, external providers and HMRC regarding deductions, calculations and changes in compensation
-Facilitate supplementary payroll runs as required
-Preparation and maintenance of statistical information and payroll records
-Monitoring & maintaining effective payroll governance
-Production & manipulation of reports as required to support the HR and Finance teams
-Deliver Payroll inductions to new employees

Key skills & experience required - About You:

-Preferably a qualified member of the CIPP or equivalent
-Experienced UK payroll specialist (ADP experience preferable)
-Some experience of European payroll would be beneficial
-Experience supporting multiple sites
-Understanding of contractual terms & UK employment legislation
-Experience of implementing process improvements & controls in line with industry best practice
-Proficiency with the MS Office package (Including intermediate level Excel skills)
-Understanding of Statutory Sick Pay, Statutory Maternity Pay and Statutory Paternity Pay
-Knowledge of Flexible benefits and salary sacrifice
-Working knowledge of Pension legislation
