Our client is a leading multi-national Defence systems provider which boasts some of the most advanced facilities in their areas of expertise.

Due to the increased demand for their products, my client is offering an exciting opportunity within Electronics Design for a PCB NPI Engineer, to develop and manage their own technology, design for manufacture aspects of PCB and component technology introduction. You will advise on design for manufacture and design for reliability issues, working with multiple stakeholders to manage the introduction of the technology and product into the manufacturing facility. As a PCB focused NPI Engineer, your main responsibilities will be/include:
*Advise on design for manufacture and design for reliability issues working with multiple stakeholders
*Manage the introduction of the technology and product into the manufacturing facility.
*Understanding PCB Materials, their characteristics, component technology and critically how they are assembled.
*Delivering a project into manufacturing without inherent design issues impacting manufacturing's ability to achieve cost and rate targets.
*Identifying and implementing improvement activities across the project lifecycle.

Successful candidates will have/be:
*Will ideally have a minimum qualification in Electronics or a closely related subject. This could be ONC, HNC etc.
*Experience in PCB assembly technology through either a PCB fabrication house, a PCB assembly house or other closely related experience.
*Production/process engineering background
*Experience in working closely with a design environment, advising on PCB design for manufacture and PCB layout technologies.
*Expertise in delivering designs into a manufacturing environment, and establishing the capability to ensure the design can be manufactured to time and cost.
*Ability to clearly communicate to mechanical & electronic designers, any PCB limitations associated with their initial proposals and influencing the adoption of alternative solutions.
*Work to tight or critical timescales, identifying critical aspects as a priority
*Excellent verbal communication and written communication skills
*Pro-activeness, motivation, ability and tenacity to deliver a task on time and to cost.
