About the Role:

Our client requires a Principal Systems Engineer to conducting the System Engineering activities throughout the complete lifecycle of projects. This job includes:
*Deliver allocated tasks within budget and to timescales
*Generating, understanding and reviewing user requirements documentation
*Writing the project System Requirements Specifications
*Developing and documenting the System architecture
*Developing and documenting the systems design through System Design Specifications and Interface Specifications following a structured approach to realise the system
*Defining the system's sub-systems and their requirements including hardware and software
*Developing and continually refining the system acceptance strategy, and verification method for each system requirement
*Promoting and co-ordinating an interdisciplinary approach through review and understanding of the outputs of the products of various engineering teams to confirm compliance with requirements & identify holes
*Ensuring the specification, design and acceptance are fully traceable
*Leading with system testing
*Deriving, defining and documenting testing
*Conducting integration testing
*Conducting system testing (informal and formal)
*Configuration & Data Management
*Supporting the safety verification process as required
*Support bids by providing input on technical solutions, estimates & plans

About You:

To be suitable for the Principal Systems Engineer role, you will need to be, educated to HNC/HND or equivalent in a relevant subject (Engineering or Computer Science), along with strong knowledge of Systems Engineering best practices and common pitfalls. You will need to have knowledge of Systems Engineering methodologies , processes and tools and an appreciation of electrical, electronic and mechanical engineering. You must have experience of full Systems Engineering lifecycles. There will be an occasional need for worldwide travel and being away from home for reasonable lengths of time.
