About the Role:

The client requires a Production Engineer to be responsible for ensuring smooth flow through production, without delays or errors, by supporting the accurate creation of Bills of Materials, manufacturing routings and process instructions and resolving any build issues as they arise, drawing packs are reviewed and available with full and correct technical documentation, and that Production Engineering solutions and services provided by the department. This role includes:

*To ensure Production Engineering deliverables are managed ensuring that commitments are delivered to the required quality and schedule.
*To ensure that appropriate technical skills and a suitable toolset is used to deliver robust Production Engineering support and services that meets the current and future needs of the business.
*To support the Engineering team in product design and creation of robust drawing packs ensuring they contain complete and accurate information that meets Production Engineering requirements and are aligned with the needs of Operations.
*To participate in contract reviews and ensure that drawing pack, tools, jigs and fixtures requirements are identified and in place allowing smooth introduction into manufacturing and procurement phases.
*To improve and facilitate the smooth flow of production build and test activities, without delays or errors, by supporting the accurate creation of manufacturing routings, Bills of Materials, process instructions and to review each job to ensure availability of full and correct technical documentation.
*To liaise with Operations and Engineering to resolve any Materials Policy related issues and to support the resolution of any material testing (XFR) activities.
*To propose, implement and maintain shop floor layouts and propose any new capital equipment requirement for production and test areas.
*To support peer reviews and design reviews as appropriate.
*To proactively contribute towards continuous improvement initiatives.
*To be innovative in solving problems and be aware of relevant new technologies / processes.

About You:

To be suitable for the Production Engineering job, you will Manufacturing Engineer you will be HNC/HND qualified (or equivalent) in a relevant Engineering discipline and experienced providing Production Engineering support to production departments. You will need experience working with a variety of manufacturing processes and assembly techniques including surface mount technology, and with Bills of Materials and manufacturing routings, within an electronic manufacturing system (MRP). You will also have knowledge of designing jigs and fixtures, preferably using 3D CAD modelling tools. It would be useful to have experience supporting the design and assembly of products designed to operate in harsh environmental conditions and in selecting assembly processes that meet product design requirements.
