As part of a dynamic, integrated team, you will assume and discharge the responsibility for determining the methods, machines, tooling and processes required to produce the company's products.
As a Production / Manufacturing Engineer (Planner), your main responsibilities will be/include:
*Amending planning sheets for the manufacture of components to meet customer's requirements.
*Modification of process planning in light of experience, drawing or process changes.
*Preparation and estimation of customers requests for quote (RFQ) including the responsibility for breaking down customers enquiries into labour hours, material values and tooling cost for the purpose of quotations to the customer.
*Problem-solving, liaison with other internal and external stakeholders
*New product introduction (NPI)
*Determining the methods, tooling and processes required for manufacturing the company's products
*Advising on types of equipment required for manufacturing components to meet customer's requirements
*Liaising with Shop Supervisors to resolve technical problems and ensure that new products are planned effectively
*Appending/amending target working times to operations on process planning sheets as and when required
*Keeping up to date with new methods, processes, equipment and products
*Production and maintenance of Local Control Documents (LCD's), Process Control Documents (PCD's) and other documentation required allowing the manufacture of the Company's products.
*Estimating type and cost of tooling required for manufacturing components to customers requirements.
*Submitting times and values for estimate build up, on approved estimate sheets clearly showing all cost elements.
Successful candidates will have/be:
*Proven experience in an Aerospace environment (or a relevant, high integrity engineering setting)
*Experience in metallic areas, Sheet Metal Forming, Welding, Resistance Welding & Aerospace Assembly Structures.
*Composites and machine shop planning experience would be an advantage
*Broad Knowledge in Sheet Metal forming methods, Metallic Assemblies, Fabrications and Treatments.
*Recognised Qualification - HNC (or similar preferred)
