Job Description

Our client is a world leader in the provision and integration of cutting-edge technology, primarily specialist vehicles and systems to the Defence and Security sectors.

They are looking for a Production Support Engineer on a 12-month fixed-term contract, based out of their site in Seville, Spain.

The Production Support Engineer will support the production team in the identification & resolution of engineering issues identified during manufacturing in their Spanish sites. The role will place significant demands on your engineering knowledge and experience and will require close liaison and co-operation with the Design Engineering and Manufacturing teams. As such, you will need to be a team player, prepared to lead from the front and work with a multi-national engineering team. You will need to work across geographical and cultural divides to draw together a comprehensive engineering capability to build a balanced system solution.

The role will involve acting as engineering point of contact to the production teams in Spain, predominantly in Seville, managing and supporting Engineering Change into Production build, as well as providing technical resolutions to engineering issues within production in Spain and the UK. You will support the generation of production installation data packs for production platform configurations and support First of Type Assembly, Installation & Test of components into production vehicles in Spain as well as undertaking technical audit of production build processes and installation design data packs. You will also support the development of Uplift and Retrofit technical manufacturing activity and support the manufacturing teams providing engineering domain support throughout build, including liaison with external, specialist suppliers of military platform systems and sub-systems.

To be considered for this role, applicants will need to be qualified to degree level in Manufacturing and/or Design Engineering or another relevant subject, with a proven track record in the build and assembly of complex systems, ideally with specialist vehicle or heavy automotive industry experience.

You will be:
*Conversant with Computer Aided Design (e.g. ProE) packages for review and analysis.
*Conversant with Windchill Product Data Management System (PDM)
*Able to liaise with and present information to multidiscipline team members.
*Able to interpret installation drawings and propose appropriate production solutions.
*Experienced in manufacturing processes and assembly techniques.
*Experienced in Product Launch processes.
*Willing to travel within the UK and overseas.

You will also have excellent presentation, verbal and written skills and will be pro-active, organized and able to plan and project manage time critical tasks. You will have excellent interpersonal, communication, influencing and negotiation skills.

A strong background in military vehicle systems engineering and familiarity with current British Army tracked and wheeled vehicles, including broad knowledge of standards and legislation applicable to military platforms would be highly desirable.
