Job Description

Our client is looking for Programme Manager to join their team on a contract based. This will be a home based role.

The Programme Manager will report to the Chief Scientific Advisor who has been appointed to lead this National Core Study into Transmission of SARS-Cov-2 on behalf of the UK Government. The Programme Manager will be responsible for delivery of a large multidisciplinary programme by the company, other Government Departments and academic partners.

The main responsibilities will be to:
*Co-ordinate and oversee the programme's sub-projects and activities
*Manage contracts with delivery partners
*Ensure the overall integrity and coherence of the programme
*Support delivery partners (including the business itself where they are delivering scientific activity)

Specifically, duties will include:
*Ensuring the programme milestones and deliverables completed to a high standard, and delivered to time and cost
*Management of stakeholders including contracted delivery partners, other parties contributing knowledge, experience and information, end-users of the work and internal stakeholders
*Liaison with science delivery staff, project managers and other internal staff for delivery of the scientific contribution to the overall programme
*Ensuring the deliverables and outcomes will achieve the planned programme benefits
*Management of the programme risks and interdependencies

A significant aspect of the role will be managing the contracts with delivery partners, which will include:
*Risk and issue management
*Manage delivery to agreed milestones, timelines and costs
*Communication with contractor to manage project progress through progress meetings etc.
*Financial management e.g. invoice approval/payment, information to internal stakeholders E.g. for forecasting, etc.
*Change management - work with Procurement on contract amendments, seeking relevant financial approvals
*Escalation of issues according to governance procedures
*Work with Procurement on disputes
