We require a Project Engineer to lead the development of new military aircraft equipment, from conceptual design through to certification and release to service.
You will need a strong understanding of Mechanical Engineering in the context of aerospace equipment, and a clear understanding of military or civil aircraft airworthiness and certification.
This role will be based at the client's site in rural Dorset, and there may be international travel on occasion.
Ensure the establishment of clear requirements baselines prior to commencement of design
Prepare Engineering Management Plans, including estimates for schedule & resource requirements
Provide technical leadership to ensure creativity, objective concept generation, technical excellence and structured problem solving
Ensure that projects are delivered in accordance with Life-Cycle Management, Engineering and other internal processes
Work with the Project Manager to ensure that projects are delivered in accordance with technical, cost and schedule requirements
Ensure that equipment designs are optimised for manufacturability
Manage team performance
Qualifications and Requirements
Engineering degree, or HNC/HND in a relevant engineering discipline with demonstrable experience
Experience of leading equipment development projects, using a diverse range of technical specialists
Experience of working within a structured Life-Cycle Management framework
Experience of concurrent engineering
Experience of customer and supplier liaison
