We currently have an opportunity for a Project Engineer - Vehicle Structures, based in West Sussex.
As Project Engineer, you will own technical and project delivery support of Vehicle Body and Structures within the Engineering Group for products on multiple programs. This role will also be the designated lead on cross departmental collaboration and will liaise between the Engineering Design Department and Workshop Team Leaders to ensure all technical deliverable deadlines are met. Your responsibilities will include:
Ownership of technical and project delivery support.
Required to write technical specifications and test specifications to undertake root cause analysis. Responsible for project Configuration Management and Engineering Change Activity.
Supporting Project Managers to prepare formal (PDR and CDR) and stage reviews for Customers. Coordination of prototype construction through to the establishment of structured frameworks such as Bill of Materials (BoM).
Coordination of the transition of prototyping to full production.
Hands on fault - finding and testing of automotive systems to support prototype development and rig design/build and proving.
Approval of all order delivery timescales in conjunction with the Project and Supply Chain Managers. Confirmation of build specifications - including sign off of Build BoM Resourcing Plan.
Provision of technical direction to the Production Manager.
Relationship management between Lead Engineer, Commercial, Supply Chain Manager and Production Manager.
The following Qualifications and Skills are required:
Degree / Masters level (or equivalent) in a Vehicle / Mechanical / Engineering Discipline.
IMECHE CEng Accredited Engineering Degree or equivalent (preferred)
Chartered Engineer or working towards Chartered engineer status (preferred)
New product development experience from concept through to test and series manufacture.
Conversant with 'Engineering tools' such DVP, DFMEA, FEA.
Experience in engagement and management of engineering outsourcing deliverables-based contracts
Experience in survivability and armouring solutions preferred.
Eligible for UK Security Clearance to minimum SC ('Secret') level
Customer focused - displaying pro-active approach to meeting both internal and external customer needs
Results-focused -A strong desire to achieve results and work hard to reach goals and targets.
