Within this role the successful candidate will be responsible for strip, investigation, repair, final assembly and testing of our client's products. The job will involve bringing a piece of equipment in, visually inspecting it, running it through the test procedure, reporting the faults, then fault find to identify the source of the faults. They will then be required to list the parts required to 'make good' the equipment, followed by writing an investigation report. The final procedures will be repairing and retesting.
As part of your role you will be responsible for:
~Reviewing their job progress on an annual basis with the objective of achieving continuous improvement. They will need to adhere and contribute to the advancement of the Company Mission.
~Testing and checking product and paperwork to the required specifications. Where non-conformities are found it will be the job holders' responsibility to carry out diagnostic testing and determine root cause to identify the necessary corrective action.
~Act as the cell link into both the quality and engineering teams. Specifically, technician grade staff are technical champions and are expected to patrol technical compliance across the cell/team and mentor staff where appropriate in order to continuously improve technical output from the team/cell.
~Maintain awareness and attend training courses as applicable for the purpose of the Company and self-development
~Demonstrate sound technical leadership with his/her team
~To work with your suppliers to ensure the correct delivery of your requirements
~To carry out any other duties as may be reasonably requested
~To work with the team and alongside the team leader to act as the main technical point of contact for the cell
~To guide and coach members of the cell to ensure that all cell production meets the required technical standards in terms of quality and functionality
~Be an accessible technical point of contact for the team/cell by other areas of the business
You will have the following experience
~Full understanding of the expectations and requirements of your primary customer
~To work with fellow team members in a respectful and courteous manner
~Thorough knowledge of continuous improvement methods, in particular 'lean' and use this understanding to question and where necessary challenge constructively any operation or instruction believed not to be the most effective option for the Company or its customers
~Must be able to read drawings and write investigation reports
~Must be able to follow test procedures and use both automated and hand-held test equipment
~Must be able to fault find equipment and identify failures and root cause
~Previous experience in an electronics and/or PCB and/or harness manufacturing environment
~Previous experience in a supervisory capacity
~Working knowledge of concession process and ECR process
