Job Description

Our client is a world leader and premier innovator in aerospace. They design, manufacture and integrate the industry's most advanced products and technologies.

As Senior Technical Support Engineer you will provide technical support and quotations for hydraulic screw-in cartridge valves and hydraulic integrated circuit products. You will support customers and clients in Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and Asia Pacific as a member of the Product Support Team. You will also manage rationalization projects and technical projects from initial enquiry through prototype to first production.

It is vital that you have in-depth experience of hydraulics and valves as you will need to be able to thoroughly technically discuss the product from concept to production.

Your tasks and responsibilities will include:

Approve and vet online Market Product Specification enquiries
Provide technical support for internal and external customers
Prepare costings and quotations for technical enquiries
Manage intercompany transfer projects
Manage customer technical projects through to completion of prototype and first production orders
Complete technical enquiry forms and online Market Product Specification enquiries, to engineering, related to new prototype and production orders
Work on Product management 'special projects' as required
Ensure that enquiries and projects allocated by the product manager are dealt with in a timely manner and that customers timescale expectations and enquiry process targets are met
Ensure that projects allocated are followed through to prototype or new production implementation in accordance with the product support flow charts and standards.

Qualifications / Experience

Strong product and technical experience, customer, market and competition knowledge
Computer literate - Excel/Access/Word/PowerPoint
Strong communication skills
Commercial awareness
Ability to work with people by phone/e-mail in other countries, embracing diversity and inclusion
Fault finding and problem-solving ability
Attention to detail when required but also awareness of the importance of speed and efficiency
The ability to multi-task and meet customer deadlines whilst maintaining a high quality of work
You will be expected to develop your commercial awareness, application, market and competition awareness with more experienced members of the team
You must be a strong communicator in both written and oral format.
