Our client is a world-class turnkey solutions provider and manufacturer of Electrical Substation Equipment, providing EHV Equipment and Engineering Solutions to the Power Transmission sector.
They are currently looking for a SHESQ Manager to join their team in South London and provide an effective and fit-for-purpose Safety Management System across the lifecycle of all company projects, covering all aspects of Safety, Health, Environment and Quality, providing proactive support and guidance to ensure compliance with current health, safety and environment legislation.
The SHESQ Manager will:
*Develop, review and maintain safety policies and procedures consistent with the company and major clients/customers within the electricity utility sector.
*Develop and implement Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to measure and monitor safety performance.
*Ensure consistent implementation of health, safety and environmental processes and procedures across both office and site locations.
*Manage, support and advise all SHEQ Advisors on projects or sites.
*Liaise with clients to ensure safety processes and procedures are aligned and all client reporting is undertaken.
*Ensure that safety of all sub-contractors engaged on projects is fit for purpose and in place, through sensible monitoring and reporting.
*Carry out internal safety and quality inspections and audits, reporting findings and implementing corrective actions.
*Co-ordinate and facilitate client or third-party audits as appropriate.
*Lead the management of incident investigations in accordance with established safety industry practices and methodology.
*Support, develop and maintain accreditation for all relevant ISO procedures working with Department Managers to ensure compliance and implementation of new or amended process and procedures.
*Support and advise senior management on all aspects of health and safety through design, construction and commissioning.
To be considered for this role, applicants will need to hold a Professional Qualification such as NEBOSH Dip/Degree and will hold (or be working towards) Chartered Membership of the Institute of Occupational Safety and Health. You will need to have strong experience of SHEQ management in the construction industry relating to the electrical distribution and transmission business.
You will have experience in providing SHEQ input to high-value projects across whole project lifecycle including tendering stage and will have knowledge of proactive safety monitoring and reporting systems. Knowledge and experience of High Voltage construction projects is highly desirable for this role.
You will need to have excellent communication skills at all levels and will be self-driven, solution oriented with a positive and supportive approach and the ability to contribute at both strategic and tactical level.
