Join a fast-growing team of talented technical support engineers supporting immersive simulations. The successful candidate will be working on supporting our worldwide customer base in realtime simulations in a range of different simulation fields. An interesting and varied role with plenty of opportunities for international travel.
Reporting to the Technical Support Manager.
Software development with both maintaining existing software packages as well as new ad hock customer software upgrades.
Support customers via telephone, email, remote connection and in the field.
Working with existing engineers in different fields, such as developers, HMI, graphics, IT and electrical.
Understanding customer requirements for supporting and resolving software related problems.
Field upgrades, installations and acceptance testing with customers.
Simulation Development Engineer / Software Developer
Dorset, Bournemouth, Ferndown, Christchurch, South Coast
Salary Neg Dep on Experience
A degree or equivalent in a relevant subject such as computer science, software engineering, math's or physics.
Experience and active background in a previous software development role.
Customer / Technical support experience showing work previously in a customer facing environment.
Excellent communication skills and ability to work with limited English speaking customers.
Self-motivated, able to work from minimal information provided by customers
Ability to work collaboratively across multiple project types or ability to jump between projects as customer requirements dictate.
Flexible, agile approach; able to cope with urgent deadlines and changing priorities.
Desirable Knowledge or Experience
Real time application development.
Simulation, games, physics processes, fluid dynamics.
.NET, C++, STL, Visual Studio, Fortran.
Industrial automation; control systems, I/O, PLC etc.
Applied math's; vector math's, trigonometry, forward/inverse kinematics.
Version control principles and systems (CVS, SVN etc).
