As part of your role you will be responsible for:
*To work within one or more concurrent project teams to deliver those projects within the defined time and cost constraints and to the required level of quality.
*Work with the Business Analyst / Project Management to identify requirements of the design.
*Produce high quality design documents describing both new IT systems and modifications to existing IT systems.
*Ensure that designs meet the project requirements and follow the philosophies, standard approach and long-term vision of the company products.
*Ensure that the design and its documentation meet the needs of the target audience, whether that be clients, other designers, developers, testers or support staff.
*Work with other members of the design team in order to produce a design which follows the company standard approach and philosophies.
*Together with the Lead Engineer, using both guidance and formal verification, ensure that the project development team follows the project design and company processes and good software development practice throughout the development lifecycle.
*Work with the test team to ensure that the test cases align with the design.
*Work with the transition and support team to ensure smooth and low risk deployment of solutions into Production Environments.
*Work with the Subject Matter Experts, other Architects, Project Managers and peer group to contribute towards developing and improving high level software team IT products, processes and procedures.
You will have the following experience
*Working knowledge of current legislative requirements as applied to software products (e.g. graphical user interface standards).
*A working knowledge of Windows Server and Linux (Susie / RedHat) operating systems.
*Demonstrable experience in writing design specifications for Information Systems.
*Proven capability in diagramming using the Unified Modelling Language (UML).
*Experience of working with design tools such as Enterprise Architect
*Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 or later using C# as the programming language with the Microsoft dot net frameworks.
*Web programming using web services and asp .net
*Silverlight, WPF and Oracle technologies
*Oracle including 11g and 12c
*Experience of performing similar roles in airports / logistics or materials handling.
*A good understanding of computer networking protocols (e.g. TCP/IP)
*Working in different SDL environments including Waterfall, V Model and Agile.
