Job Description

Our client is looking for a Specialist Simulation Engineer to join their team for an initial 6 month contract. This role will be primarily home based with possibly one day a week spent on site in Crawley.

The candidate will have worked in the simulation industry of aviation and/or submarine/naval and shall possess a good working knowledge of both civil and military Systems. Ideally, the candidate will have working knowledge of simulating (modern) aircraft and/or naval vessels. This engineer will be working as part of a Software team alongside the System team, and integrating with a wider project team.
Key Tasks
*Undertake the specification, design, implementation, test and integration of software in line with required standards.
*Capturing customer requirements, and in the absence of clearly defined specifications be able to understand the customer's underlying goals in order propose software requirements.
*Interface between the software design team and the systems IVVQ to traceable validation of software and system requirements.
*Ability to interact with customer to understand their needs.

*Working knowledge of Aircraft and/or Submarine/Naval Systems
*Simulation knowledge
*Integrate Aircraft System models and data packs for simulation
*Integrate Submarine models and data packs and ICDs for simulation
*Equipment interfacing; message formatting, time-sensitivity, inter-dependencies, etc.
*C/C++ programming
*Good working knowledge for many of the following Aircraft/Naval systems:
1)Automatic Identification System (AIS)
2)Data Link Terminals (DLT)
3)Electro-Optics (EO)
4)Electronic Warfare (EW)
5)Ground Mission Planning Systems Support
6)Identification, Friend or Foe (IFF)
7)Maritime Sensors (Sonar, Acoustics, MAD)
8)Mission Computers Support
9)Signal Attenuation
10)Stores management System (SMS)
11)Terrain Interrogation (TINT)
*Integration and testing
*Analytical knowledge of ARINC 429, AFDX, CAN
Knowledge in the following areas is desirable:
*Re-host existing boat systems
*Avionics relating to Aircraft Systems

Additional Security Information
Due to the sensitive nature of the product all applicants must hold or be eligible for UK MoD Security Clearance (SC level minimum).
