We currently have an opportunity for a Structural Test Team Leader, based in Stevenage.
You will to lead and develop the Structural Test Team, whilst providing structural test technical expertise to the wider project teams and developing working relationships with all stakeholders. The team deliver all aspects of structural testing from defining the requirements, developing test methodologies, performing the tests to technical reporting.
Your job role and responsibilities will include:
This role brings the opportunity to influence all aspects of Structural test throughout the product life cycle.
By leading a small team you will be responsible for their day to day management and developing their skills and knowledge.
You will be able to demonstrate your ability to actively seek and implement improvements in all aspects of the structural testing process.
Future career progression may be via the Technical Specialist / Expert or people management paths.
Key accountabilities include:
Lead the definition of and provide expertise in defining structural and fatigue test activities in support of product development.
Responsible for liaison with stakeholders to ensure that the objectives, resource requirements, budgets and timescales of the project structural and fatigue test regimes in the agreed statements of work are met.
Authority to define priority between assigned projects within the structural test laboratory.
Technical review and approval of structural test documentation, including reports.
It is essential that you have the following Qualifications and Skills:
Educated to degree level or equivalent with suitable experience and a strong technical background in structural test / mechanical analysis or similar disciplines.
Expertise in interpreting structural test requirements, writing structural test Proving Plans and relevant test Instructions.
Knowledgeable of the test methods used to perform variety of structural and fatigue testing (i.e. fatigue, proof, ultimate load).
Good verbal and written communication abilities
Proven planning and leadership skills (interpersonal and influencing)
Ability to challenge and endorse the technical content of documents prepared by structural test engineers
Understanding the key activities supported by structural testing across the product life cycle

Salary:Up to £53,000pa + excellent bonus + excellent benefits
